MALB 2011 Proposed Dates

15 04 2011

In light of recent developments, MALB feels that its imperative that a tournament be organized within the immediate future, to prepare players for any selection programs made by the Federation, for the upcoming SEA Games in November.

Thus, it is MALB’s intention to organize such tournament before the Muslim’s fasting month of Ramadhan, which starts from the 1st to the 30th of August, followed by the Eidil Fitri celebrations for 2 weeks thereof. MALB has also taken into consideration of programs of other sports, particularly Softball, so as to avoid unwanted clashes in programs.

Thus it is proposed that the MALB 2011 tournament dates would be on the 15-17 July 2011 (Friday to Sunday), and the proposed Manager’s Meeting would be held on the 12th of July 2011. The proposed closing date for submission of entry forms would be the 15th of June 2011.

Therefore, MALB seeks the opinions and views of congregational Clubs on these dates, so as to optimize the success of this proposed event. Please revert all comments, opinions and views directly onto this posting, or alternatively to MALB’s e-mail: malbcentral@gmail.com.

Appreciate and looking forward to hearing you views.

Thanks

Calling for All Baseball Clubs in Malaysia & Singapore

7 04 2011

To all Baseball Clubs in Malaysia & Singapore (including those who plays Softball), MALB is making a roll-call. We want to know how many teams are still out there, and if there are any teams that is dormant, now is the time for you to wake up!!

Its been too long since MALB last organized the last tournament. 2010 was a miss out as most of the Top Executives were pre-occupied with lost hopes and efforts. MALB has for many years supported the greater effort of baseball development and promotion in Malaysia, but sadly, all our efforts, supports and spirits are simply wasted. All this time, MALB has been hoping for changes, that would take and elevate Malaysian Baseball to greater heights, but somehow, its been proven, that all those patience are simply a waste of time. All efforts for change are futile.

Thus, the time has come for all of us, the Clubs, to rise above the horizon, and take matters into our own hands.. We are the drive and energy that forms the overall baseball community of Malaysia… the clubs.. Not the state associations, nor the federation. Club teams are the ones that keeps Baseball alive, driven by simple passion and enthusiasm. No politics, no non-sense, no un-necessary spendings, and no abuse of power.

MALB, the organization that has provided and regulated club level tournaments and leagues since 2006, has worked tirelessly, sincerely and most importantly independently (without any financial or moral support from any national or governmental organizations) to elevate and improve the standards of Baseball in Malaysia. Its through MALB’s initiatives that a proper Baseball tournament is organized, a proper umpiring and scoring initiative is developed (though not completed), and an actual effort to penetrate secondary schools are made.. Not the state associations, not the federation.. but MALB… the convergence entity of Malaysian Baseball Clubs.

This year, the Clubs through MALB will once again rise to the occasion, in saving what’s left of Malaysian Baseball. Many quality players and coaches had their spirits broken by unscrupulous leaders, with empty promises and misleading statements. It would be an up-hill battle for MALB to achieve what it use to achieve, but up-hill battles are no strangers to MALB.

Therefore, I, on behalf of MALB, the entity that converges all Malaysian Baseball Clubs, hereby call for a Roll-Call to all Baseball Clubs in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, to come together and take control of the region’s future of baseball. For a start, MALB will organize 2 tournaments this year, 1 – a National level Open, and 2 – an International Open.

Let’s bring back the smiles to our faces. Let’s bring back the spirit of baseball within us. Let’s close ranks and work together and build a solid baseball future. If we look within the country, many will try to fail us. But just take a step back, and look beyond our borders, many are willing to sacrifice a lot of things, just to realize our dreams and goals..

To all Malaysian, Singaporean, Indonesian and Thailand Baseball Clubs, contact MALB immediately through e-mail. ALl you have to do is just give us your Club Name, Address, Contact Number & Person, website and e-mail address.. and MALB will contact you directly with the future plans. If you are in the know of any club teams, please do forward or share this posting with them.

Together.. we will rise and conquer!!!

LET’S PLAY BALL!!!!
